What is C60?
C60 is a fullerene of 60 carbon atoms bonded to form a hollow cage in the shape of a soccer ball, made up of twenty hexagons and twelve pentagons. It is a black powder that when dissolved in edible oils forms a powerful antioxidant.
C60, short for Carbon 60 or C60 fullerene, is a relatively newly discovered form of carbon. A suggested daily dose of between 5ml and 7ml but use our C60 calculator if you want a more accurate dose based on your weight. You can take a higher or lower dose if you wish and alternate the days you take it too.
If you want to see faster results we suggest Loading Up. This accelerates the effects of taking C60 by saturating your body with C60 for a short period to quickly reduce the levels of free radicals.
We recommend a loading up dose of;
- 20ml for 5 days
- 15ml for 5 days
- 10ml for 5 days
- 5ml to 7ml ongoing
As a precaution before you start on a high dose, try taking half a teaspoon of C60 oil for a few days to make sure it does not have a laxative effect.

C60 in olive oil is a solution of the buckyball C60 in olive oil. The 80mg/100ml solution is a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown C60 has measurable potential health benefits when taken orally. A well-known study from 2012 showed it almost doubled the life span of some mammals.
Carbon 60 is a remarkable molecule which, dissolved in olive oil, forms a powerful antioxidant 172 times more powerful than vitamin C. C60 is insoluble in water but forms a saturated solution in olive oil at around 80mg/100ml. Oils are made up of fatty acid chains and the longer the chains the more C60 will dissolve. Oils with short and medium-chain lengths dissolve less C60. MCT coconut oil is made up of short and medium-chain fatty acids and so can only dissolve around 53mg of C60 per 100ml.
C60 as a supplement
C60 in olive oil has been taken continuously by many since 2012 for its potential to support overall well-being and optimise cell and immune function. Significant health and fitness benefits have been reported.
C60 rat study
In 2012 a remarkable study was published that showed the life span of rats could be extended by taking carbon C60 in olive oil.
The group of rats given C60 in olive oil lived more than 90% longer than the control group, almost doubling their life span.
“Our results show that while olive oil treatment can lead to an increase of 18% of lifespan of treated rats, C60-olive oil can increase it up to 90%, as compared to controls. The effects of olive-oil on health and ageing are well known, and its effect as a function of dose has been thoroughly discussed.
But, what is noteworthy is that at M38 [month 38] all C60-treated rats were still alive. Thus, based on previous investigations, C60 should be the most efficient ever material for extending lifespan.”

Taking C60 with food or without food is a personal choice and depends on whether you like the taste of the oil and if it helps you digest the oil. But there is no need to take C60 with food.
